Esse India: Best Immigration Consultant in Delhi

Every week, I’m sitting at the other end of a table opposite to someone who is about to make the most important decision of their life — relocating their whole family to a new country. Finding the best immigration consultant in Delhi, and invariably more often than not, before even beginning to discuss Canada PR or Australia Visas or CRS points, their very first query will be: “How do we know that you are the right consultants for this?”

That’s a legitimate concern. After all, Delhi is replete with immigration consultancies; take a stroll on any commercial area of Rajouri Garden, Karol Bagh or CP and there will be at least a couple of such agencies calling themselves “the best.” Therefore, having spent years in the field and having observed hundreds of applications move through this process, many of whom came to us because of their previous bad experiences with other agencies, I would like to present my observations of what differentiates a real immigration consultant from Delhi with someone just running a lead generation business out of an office.

Why Delhi Has Become a Hub for Immigration Consultants

The Delhi NCR region provides more skilled workers each year than probably anywhere else in the northern part of India. From IT workers going to Canada under Express Entry, to nurses and engineers looking at the various skilled visas offered by Australia, to students going there on study permits, there is tremendous demand, and where there is demand there is no shortage of consultancy options, good and bad alike.

The reality is that being saturated in this manner ends up hurting you rather than helping you. Not because there are no good consultants, but because it is extremely difficult to distinguish between the good and the bad, particularly when all their websites boast exactly the same things: “most success rate,” “approved by the government,” “totally transparent process.” I can attest to that from my experience of reading hundreds of websites of this kind.

Thus, instead of trying to find some rankings or reviews, it is better to focus on the behavior of the consultant in the very first communication.

What Makes the Best Immigration Consultant in Delhi Stand Out

Through time, I have observed some traits among those consultancies that really work. Here are some characteristics of the consultancy firms that will give you an opportunity to refer your siblings and coworkers:

  • They provide you with an honest eligibility check even when they need to inform you that you are not yet ready, instead of convincing you to join them right away.
  • They provide you with the proper information regarding the pathway you will undertake to get your visa — be it Express Entry, PNP, family sponsorship, or the study-to-PR pathway.
  • The cost structure of their services is provided to you in writing prior to any transactions.
  • They are very clear that no one — despite his/her experience in the field — could guarantee a visa approval since that responsibility falls on the shoulders of the IRCC, Department of Home Affairs, or the concerned embassy.
  • They remain engaged in your case after submitting your application, not only before signing the agreement.
  • Their employees have a good understanding of documentation such as ECA report, IELTS/PTE requirements, work experience letter, and police clearance certificate, among others, and not just sales executives with the capability to discuss “settling abroad”.

Mistakes to Avoid When Choosing an Immigration Consultant

This is what gets skipped, and ultimately ends up being the reason for the most expensive mistakes — be it monetary, of time, or even getting your application denied down the road. From the many cases where we had to do a second opinion following a bad experience elsewhere, here are some of the red flags to take note of:

  • Any consultant who assures you of a “guaranteed visa” or “100% approval”. This is not how immigration law works, no matter where you are.
  • Demanding you pay the whole fee upfront, and usually adding “limited time offer” pressure to it.
  • Lack of a contract, or an unclear one on what exactly will you be receiving.
  • Consultants unable to specify what organization or association they or their affiliates are registered with (e.g. ICCRC/CICC for Canada).
  • Sudden lack of communication after paying for the services. This seems to be one of the most common complaints when switching consultants.
  • Identical-looking reviews, all posted at once and looking too good to be true.

What Services the Right Immigration Consultant in Delhi Should Actually Offer

A consultancy company that is designed for sustainability generally tends to do much more than “file your visa”. As per our experience in working with various clients through Canada PR, Australian skilled migration, and study visa categories

The process itself becomes much smoother if handled end to end from initial profiling of the candidate to IELTS or PTE preparation, SOPs and cover letters, and application filing.

he latter one tends to be highly ignored by many consultants. Most of the consultancies tend to fade out right after stamping the visa on the passport, but that is where the real worth of a consultant comes into play.

The Questions I’d Ask If I Were Sitting Where You’re Sitting

1. How Many Years of Experience Do They Have?

When trying to choose the right consultancy, you should first inquire about their experience in working with such cases as yours. Having some experience working with the particular kind of visa that you are planning to get, like Canada PR, study visa, work permit, or Australian skilled migration, can matter.

2. What If My Visa Application Is Rejected?

It is always good to know what the policy of a trustworthy immigration consultant is in case of rejection of your visa application. You may want to ask if they offer any help with re-applying for the visa or appealing against the rejection decision.

3. Is there a Way to Obtain a Written List of All Costs?

It is important to have transparency. Request that all consultancy costs, government costs, cost of the English test, and other extra costs be presented to you in written form before making any agreements.

4. Who Would Be Managing My Application?

It is essential to know who would be your primary contact during the immigration process. This will help you in ensuring that proper communication takes place at all times.

5. Do Not Go Just by The Looks of Their Office

The looks of an office or the online rating of the consultancy does not matter when deciding on which immigration consultancy would be best for you. Other factors such as experience, transparency, and communication are what really matter.

The Qualities That Set the Best Immigration Consultant in Delhi Apart

I don’t wish to say that all immigration consultants in Delhi are out there to mislead; most of them are not. However, since the immigration procedure can be confusing in itself, one does not need additional confusion coming from a consultant who is interested only in getting his business done regardless of whether the case is genuine or not.

It is not always the one who has the largest number of hoardings or advertisements around him but one who understands your individual case well and is willing to tell you the truth, no matter how hard it might be for you to digest it.

If you’re in the process of choosing between your options now, I would say that your best option is to meet two or three consultants, ask the aforementioned straightforward questions, and pay attention to their responses. This will provide you with all the answers that you need.

Alternatively, you can go ahead with our eligibility check and see what the status of your profile is right now. There’s no obligation involved and oftentimes this is sufficient for making an informed decision.
